FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I purchase some of this ultra-hip jewelry? At our booth! Check out our show schedule for a place
and time near you. Or, see what we currently have at our Etsy shop www.CinderellaLucinda.etsy.com (more on
this in the question below...)
Do you have a brochure or a catalogue? We haven’t yet perfected a way to offer a large number of our
spontaneous, one-of-a-kind creations other than for sale at Art Fairs and Festivals, but we do have a few at a
time available on Etsy. Our shop address is www.CinderellaLucinda.etsy.com . If you have seen a particular
item in person and want to inquire about it, please email us at art@CinderellaLucinda.com .
Do you do custom orders? We have done many custom orders, but we request that you do not send us your
super valuable or heirloom stamps just in case of a whoopsy.
Are the earrings heavy? They are much lighter than they look. I have tiny, extremely sensitive earlobes, so the
earrings are specifically designed to be lightweight. But everyone’s definition of “heavy” and “light” is different,
so ultimately, only you can make that decision.
You mean you wear one on one ear and one on the other? The answer Yes applies to both the
asymmetrical style of earrings as well as the twin pairs. We like to think the asymmetrical earrings match -
they're just not identical.
What are the ear wires made of? Most importantly, the ear wires contain no nickel, which is what the majority
of people are allergic to. That said, the wires are “hypo-allergenic, surgical stainless steel.” We also have
sterling silver and gold-fill options available.
What if I don’t have pierced ears? We have been known to convert ear wires to comfortable clip-ons.
Do you have a certain piece in another color? It’s possible, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. But please ask
and we’ll let you know.
Do you have a shop somewhere? We create from our studio and then take our show on the road to sell at
Art Fairs and Festivals around the Pacific Northwest (see Show Schedule). We consider the booth our Nomadic
Gallery.
Do you use real postage stamps? Yes, we use the genuine article and have been collecting stamps since
1983.
Where do you get your stamps? As with any collectible, there is no one place. Before e-mail, it was easy to
save stamps from both international and domestic mail. Now people don’t write to each other as often, so
stamp collecting is more difficult and stamps are increasing in value. Each stamp we use is purposely selected
for their country of origin, the topic (animals, flowers, etc.) or their striking color and artwork.
Do you use cancelled stamps? Yes, we use stamps with either light cancellations or cancellations off to the
side so the main image is still clear. We also use mint stamps.
Where do you get your beads and charms? We’ve built up our collection of beads and charms over the last
17 years, supporting local Bead Stores in the towns we travel to and through.
What are the charms made from? It’s a veritable metal smorgasbord. We use everything from sterling silver,
pewter, brass, bronze, mixed-metals, base-metal, plated metal, gold and sometimes all in one piece!

Once upon a time, way back last century in 1991, we debuted our first
arty jewelry pieces.
Cinderella Lucinda is a partnership business comprised of my husband
and myself. No, fortunately, his name is not Cinderella and although I
love the name, mine is not Lucinda. However, my genetic heritage is
Native American and Cinderella Lucinda was the actual, given name of
one of my Native American ancestors from the 1800’s.
It is an honor to bring such a fun and historic name to our business while
catching the whimsical nature of our jewelry in an easy-to-remember
way.
Cinderella, the lead character from the fairy tale, was all about
transformation, a key theme in life. It is also the central theme in our
jewelry, taking what has been before—a stamp, some beads, and a
little charm—and transforming them into something brand new. In this
way, my husband and I consider ourselves fairy godparents.
And last, but not least, “Cinderella” is a term from the stamp collecting
world, overlooked treasures that have the potential to become
valuable. Or at least that’s my spin on the definition. But add these
together, whimsy, heritage, transformation and treasure, and you’ve
got the ingredients for a classy pin or a sassy pair of earrings.
Congratulations! You’ve just graduated from our History 101.
